When your camper isn't functioning as it should, it can be, at the very least a headache, if not ruin the experience.
Camping can sometimes turn into a test of endurance rather than a relaxing getaway. Imagine waking up to a cold shower, a jarring start to the day due to a malfunctioning hot water heater. As the sun blazes overhead, the absence of air conditioning transforms your serene escape into a sweltering ordeal. To add to the frustration, the kitchen slide-out on your RV refuses to budge, keeping your favorite cold beverages tantalizingly out of reach because you can't open the door to your refrigerator. You find yourself questioning the choices that led you to this situation—why you went camping or invested in an RV in the first place. It’s moments like these that challenge the very essence of outdoor adventures, leaving you wondering if the great outdoors is truly worth the struggle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My air condition is leaking water after if turns off, what is wrong?
Keeping your air conditioner in optimal condition is crucial, especially during the sweltering heat of summer. Nine times out of ten, the evaporator coils are the culpret of your leaking situation and it requires a thorough cleaning to ensure efficient operation. In fact, a comprehensive cleaning of the entire unit is generally recommended to maintain its performance. Regular maintenance services not only extend the lifespan of your air conditioning system but also enhance its efficiency, helping you stay cool when temperatures soar. For those interested in saving on maintenance costs, be sure to check out our Service Specials page for air conditioning and various other service offers. Prioritizing these services can make a significant difference in your comfort and overall costs.
What is a Service Fee and why do you have one?
The service fee is a necessary charge that accounts for the time spent traveling to a job site while in the truck. This fee helps cover various expenses, including fuel, tools, supplies, and maintenance costs that accumulate due to wear and tear on the vehicle, such as oil changes and tire replacements. It’s important to note that you will only incur this service fee once per job, specifically for the trip to your RV, and not for the return journey. Additionally, if multiple visits are required to complete the job, there will be no extra service fee on those return visits. This structure ensures transparency in billing while allowing us to provide reliable service without compromising on quality.
Can I watch while you repair or service my RV?
We encourage your presence while I work, as long as it does not interfere with my tasks or create any hazardous situations. It's essential that you feel completely secure if you were to decide to join me on the roof; safety should always be the top priority. Having customers around fosters transparency and allows you to gain insights into the work being done. This experience could not only enhance your understanding but also empower you as a more informed RV owner. Who knows, you might even pick up some skills that inspire you to take on some DIY projects yourself, ultimately saving you money in the long run. Your involvement can transform the whole experience into an opportunity for learning and growth.
What are the differences between hiring you and taking my RV to a dealership?
When considering RV service options, it's essential to weigh the pros and cons of using a dealership versus a mobile RV service technician. While dealerships can provide access to a centralized parts department perhaps leading to more immediate repairs, they often come with significant drawbacks, such as long wait times for appointments that can stretch into weeks or even months as well as higher labor charges commonly found at dealerships. Additionally, RV owners may find themselves incurring extra living expenses if they cannot stay in their RV during dealership repairs. Although we carry many parts and supplies to cater to various needs, we simply are not able to have as many parts available as a dealership. The higher labor and living costs, as well as the wait time at a dealership may justify the wait you may have with us for parts in many circumstances. Ultimately, the choice hinges on individual priorities, whether it is convenience, cost, or the availability of necessary parts.
What are the differences between repairs, services and preventative maintenance?
A good example of a repair is troubleshooting a water heater and finding out the main control board is bad, and then replacing the board to get the water heater back up and running. Services or preventative maintenance are the same thing actually. We refer to it often as preventative maintenance as it was called in the U. S. Navy when I served, however, the RV industry refers to it as services. Essentially they are actions to inspect, clean or improve the performance and safety of a component on the RV. A good example would be cleaning the air conditioner evaporator and condenser coils, or perhaps cleaning and lubricating your RV rack and pinion slide-outs. There are many, many ways to service your RV. In our opinion, services are a crucial part of RV life. Setting a schedule to perform or have services rendered will greatly increase the overall lifespan, safety and performance of your RV and significantly reduce long-term costs. Refer to the Service Specials page for a comprehensive list of our services available.

YouTube can be a valuable resource for information, but it's essential to approach it with caution. Many influencers promote products that may not always be the best option, as their primary goal is to sell. To ensure you're getting accurate information, we recommend watching several videos on topics that interest you. If a particular method or approach appears more popular, it often indicates a wider acceptance of its effectiveness. In this context, FreedomTek Mobile RV Services has launched a YouTube channel to provide helpful and informative videos, aiding viewers in making better decisions for their RV needs. Keep an eye out for their upcoming content to enhance your knowledge and skills!
